Empowering The Masses - YouTube
Don't get me wrong--I am all for free or low cost education. Empowering the masses is like telling all sports fans that there will be a free game at a particular stadium somewhere and that there will also be free unlimited beer served-- all with short notice and without informing the local police department. I'm afraid the outcome would be most predictable. How's that for a concept?
“President Chavez was a controversial leader. But at his core he was a man who came from very little and used his unique talents and gifts to try to lift up the people and the communities that reflected his impoverished roots. He believed that the government of the country should be used to empower the masses, not the few. He understood democracy and basic human desires for a dignified life. His legacy in his nation, and in the hemisphere, will be assured, as the people he inspired continue to strive for a better life for the poor and downtrodden.”
That is how Mao Zedong and the CCP promised when they won the revolution in 1949. Empowering the masses at the expense of those better off (landlords and scholars and management). Radio was an important source of information and knowledge formation among the rural populace and played a vital role in empowering the masses, said M.K. Alagiri, Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers, on Saturday. I feel that this new group of ETL providers are focused sufficiently on the new world of API driven platforms, beyond just "data sources" and "web services". There are more providers like and , but I feel these providers are more ETL than, than reflecting new breed of API interoperability providers (which I don’t have proper name for yet). One characteristic I’m looking for is ease of use. I think this new breed should be more for end-users, SaaS users and ultimately empowering the masses--not IT, which I feel ETL is designed for.The PTI leader said instead of empowering the masses, the local government system in the Punjab had only strengthened those in power. “This system is a farce.”Decentralising power
As writer and revolutionary Frantz Fanon recognised, empowering the masses means decentralising power: “The flow of ideas from the upper echelons to the rank and file and vice versa must be an unwavering principle.” In these credit crunching days it is imperative that quality comes with low cost. My job as an Editorial Director is to oversee the marriage of quality and low cost. My team and I are constantly encouraging and advising contributing authors, whilst facilitating rapid publication of their work on our site. To ensure that authors can publish without cost to themselves it is necessary to provide free graphic design (covers) and marketing services. We feel that we are empowering the literary masses, providing a platform of opportunity.
